On Friday, May 2nd, BMS was one of eight schools to host Maine Space Day!
The day started with Duane "Digger" Carey, a NASA astronaut sharing his story and journey, both personal and professional experiences. Digger highlighted to students the importance of work habits, growing as a learner and to continue to pursue your interests and opportunities regardless of your journey. He related his personal middle school years stories that were engaging and meaningful to our gymnasium full of students. We hosted over 100 visitors, students participated in 3 out of 20 different sessions, a Space Day activity fair and two school-wide presentations to bookend our day.
Students listened intently, asked meaningful questions and engaged and grappled with learning ideas. We could not be more proud of our community of students and how well they represented themselves and our school!
