Dear Staff and Families,

We are pleased to share some exciting news regarding our school facilities. Last summer, the district submitted State construction applications for four schools: Bath Middle, Dike-Newell, Fisher-Mitchell, and Phippsburg.

Out of approximately 100 applications submitted from across the State, Dike-Newell was ranked first on the Maine Department of Education's School Construction Proposed Priority List! This outcome is a testament to the persistent advocacy of our staff and community over the past several years, and it provides a great sense of relief and anticipation. Our goal is to combine Dike-Newell and Fisher-Mitchell into one PreK-5 school. Although we don't have a specific timeline for the project yet, we will let you know as details become available.

We look forward to this exciting new chapter that will benefit our students, staff, and the community.

The other RSU 1 schools were ranked as follows:

Fisher Mitchell  26

Phippsburg       50

BMS                   71
