Woolwich Central School held a Pocket Change for Charity coin drive recently. This year, Ms. Culley's 4th grade class donated the most money and earned the right to display the giant "Purple Penny" in their classroom! In all, the school donated $533.54. That turns out to be over 97 pounds of change! WEIGH to go!!

Congratulations to the Morse Boys Swim and Dive Team! MPA Class B State Champions!
This team has had an incredible season. They went unbeaten and during the state championships today they won 9 of the 12 events.
A huge congratulations to Gaffney McDonough - who was named Swimmer of the meet today!
This is the first team state championship in any sport at Morse since 2010 (girls swimming).

A huge congratulations to our two Senior Wrestlers, Jason Rowan and Kaiden Webster! 🤼
The two Seniors have led by example all season and qualified for MPA All State New England Qualifier next weekend!
All season long Kaiden and Jason have been instrumental in leading a successful wrestling season. They are generally the first in the gym and some of the last to leave. We are proud of the season that you have had and looking forward to another chance of supporting you both next weekend!

This week First Grade got to meet Mr. Smenkowski and Mrs. Dalton, two ICU nurses from Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick. Students learned about heart health and the pulmonary system, then did some exercises to see their heart rates rise. Thank you so much to our volunteers for sharing their knowledge in such a fun way!

Last week, 4th graders at PES enjoyed a visit to the Maine Maritime Museum where they viewed the Wabanaki presentation and "Upta Camp" exhibit.

Second graders at Dike-Newell School are our most recent Law Enforcement Against Drugs (LEAD) program graduates. Way to go!

Bath Middle School 8th Grade students participated in Bath Tech Step Up Day to see future opportunities and programming. This marks the start of the high school transition process!

Last week, 5th graders at Woolwich Central School spent a day at GMRI (Gulf of Maine Research Institute). Not only did the class represent our community beautifully, they were able to have a hands-on learning experience off campus. Students explored scientific research in an interactive manner, while learning from actual scientists. They were challenged to identify plankton and other small creatures using microscopes, as well as to virtually dissect black sea bass. They even handled live lobsters! We are grateful to Bath Savings, BIW, and Reny's for sponsoring GMRI's LabVenture, which is why we were able to have this experience.

Huge congratulations to our 200 Free Relay team who shattered the STATE RECORD in the event on Friday evening with a time of 1:27.14!
Great job to the relay team of Seniors Gaffney McDonough, Sawyer Wright, David Mitchell and Junior Brady Chubbuck! Amazing work by these four athletes and the rest of the program this evening.

Learning time takes many forms at Fisher-Mitchell School!

Last week, 4th Grade students at Fisher-Mitchell school had a special "graduation" to celebrate completing the 10 week L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence) program. Students were acknowledged for their hard work and learning by Bath PD. It was a great experience to have Deputy Chief Small & Officer Tringali teaching this program. We are very thankful for their work!

This week sixth graders at Woolwich Central School started their participation in the L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence) program. We welcomed Sagadahoc Sheriff's Office Deputies Chad Carleton, and Mark Anderson who are running the sessions. L.E.A.D. is a 10-week program that focuses on: goal setting, decision-making, effective communication, conflict resolution, pro-social bonding, and bullying prevention.

Bath Middle School is happy to host the Maine Biolab this week! The Maine Mobile BIOLAB is a state-of-the-art mobile science lab that will meet students where they live and learn and engage them in the life sciences and engineering.

Culinary Cafe kicked off their first cafe of the year. We served approximately 24 people and the food was delicious!

Students at Fisher-Mitchell School recently completed the Sticking Together Challenge. Students received tokens from staff when behaviors that demonstrated kindness, community, etc. were shown. Each token translated into a color sticker to be added to the mosaic.

Dike-Newell students have been participating in Hour of Code during library classes this week as well as having a special library visit to practice programming Bee-Bots. Hour of Code is a free introduction to computer science through fun activities and videos for learners of all skill levels. Schools around the world join the Hour of Code movement as part of Computer Science Education Week. Students previewed two of the many activities available on the Hour of Code website and learned how they could access this site at school as well as at home. During the special Bee-Bot library visit, Ms. Hardman, with the help of second grade Coding Club members, taught students how to program the Bee-Bots. They then visited various stations for Bee-Bot challenges.

Students at PES had "snow" much fun earlier this week!

Dike-Newell Pre-K students were treated to a special guest reader - RSU 1's Jake Rothwell, Technology Support Specialist, who is also a Pre-K dad. Thanks for spending time with our students, Jake!
